Littelfuse NANO²® SMD 708 Series Fuse Enables High-Current 48 VDC AI Data Center Protection

Littelfuse has launched the NANO²® Surface-Mount 708 Series Fuse, the first Littelfuse surface-mount fuse to deliver a 14,000 A interrupting rating at 80 VDC. As AI servers and data-center power architectures shift to 48 V distribution, designers face the challenge of protecting high current levels while keeping board space to a minimum. Traditional high-current fuses are usually through-hole or bolt-down devices that require manual assembly. The new 708 Series solves this problem by combining high current capability (60 A to 200 A) with an industry-leading interrupting rating in a compact, automation-friendly surface-mount package. Littelfuse 871 Series Ultra-High Amp Fuses offering upto 150A & 200A ratings in a small size SMD(13.3mm x 12mm)

In today's data center server market, with the rise of AI computing and data/crypto mining functions, a huge amount of power has become a requirement, coupled with the need to optimize the density of the racks. With this increased power requirement at the same system voltages and at very space-constrained products, there is a need for ever smaller and even higher current-rated overcurrent protection and fuse solutions. The existing 881 Series Fuses have been the solution of choice for most customers for such applications, providing them with a single fuse solution for the requirement. However, with the heightened power requirement, even the 881 Series ratings are no longer sufficient, rendering them the need to do parallel fusing using the 881 Series parts. Littelfuse released new solid state latching relay in a small 3mm×3mm DFN package

Littelfuse released a new solid state latching relay CPC1601M which is very suitable for thermostat application. It is a non-isolated, low operating current,1-Form-A solid state latching relay, available in a small 3 × 3 mm2 DFN package. The relay can obtain operating power from the open-circuit load or system power supply. If powered from the load, the relay takes zero power from the system supply, thus helping to extend battery life. When power is supplied by the load, the relay opens periodically to obtain power via the open-circuit load voltage. In most applications this interruption is transparent to the load.

Diotec released low Vf Bridge Rectifier achievig eco-design for EU Directive 2023/826

The latest eco-design requirement of EU Directive 2023/826 stipulates that the standby consumption of electronic devices - e.g. entertainment devices - may only be 0.5 watts. In order to achieve this target, the power losses in each semiconductor component must be carefully checked, starting with the input bridge, which is connected to the mains and is always in operation. Diotec Semiconductor meets this requirement with its latest series of "Low Vf" or "-LV" rectifier bridges, such as the GBI25J-LV. Compared to the standard GBI25J version, this component offers a reduction in forward voltage Vf of 12% per single diode. The Vf parameter is proportional to the power dissipation as a first approximation, and since there are always two diodes per bridge, the total saving is 24% compared to the standard version. This is impressive and could be the decisive step towards achieving the eco-design requirement of only 0.5 W standby power.
